Members of the IIT Warhammer 40,000 Club provide information to interested students about tabletop wargaming. This includes other aspects of the hobby, including building and painting plastic model kits.

Learn about Structural Engineers Association of Illinois: 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

In the session, we will discuss the opportunities that SEAOI provides to Illinois Tech students. In our organization, we have monthly dinner meetings where we are able to network with structural engineer professionals. We also have lunch meetings where professionals come to talk to us about projects. And the most exciting of all, conferences! Tune in to learn more.


First Year Experience Kickoff: 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm

This session is required for all new first-year students. During the first year of college, students are often encouraged to find new friends and a support network. However, sometimes with a rigorous course load, involvement in student organizations, and other life responsibilities, making time to socialize can be challenging. Please join Markie Rhodes to learn about the positive emotional and physical impact of meaningful social connections and how this year's First-Year Experience program will provide a framework for students to find their community at Illinois Tech.


Elevate at Illinois Tech: 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Interested in Internships? Study Abroad? Research? Look no further than Elevate.

Elevate is the umbrella organization at Illinois Tech that connects students with experiential opportunities that allow them to learn the valuable skills which will enable their upward trajectory. These opportunities include on- and off-campus research, internships and co-ops, study abroad, and additional opportunities such as short courses and competitions to further round out your education.


Reducing the Gender Gap in Cybersecurity: 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

WiCyS is an international organization dedicated to the advancement and recruitment of women in cybersecurity. In this session, learn about the purpose of the Women in Cybersecurity organization and the events and programming WiCyS offers to students.

We'll talk about career fairs, conferences, and other events that students can look forward to as a member of our organization. We'll also touch on the need for diversity and inclusion in cybersecurity and why the gender gap creates problems for society at large.

Railroad Club Session: 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm

The Illinois Tech Railroad Club will be giving a brief presentation about railroad careers and recreational opportunities it offers to students, which includes field trips, conferences, internship connections and model railroading.


Empowerment Leadership and Mentorship Program - Foundations: 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm

This workshop is aimed at giving new students a quick overview of the ELM program and how they can become part of this program. The foundations of the ELM program will be discussed.


Game Night with SOAR Leaders!: 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Come have a fun night playing games like Cards Againsts Humanity and Scribbl.io with your SOAR Leaders! We hope to get to see you guys there :)


Phi Kappa Sigma Fraternity Game Night: 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Come get to know our brothers in a zoom gameshow! If you're on campus, order food from our chef to be safely delivered to your dorm!

Required International Center/ELS Session: 10:00 am - 11:00 am

Join the International Center (I-Center) and the English Language Services (ELS) to learn about:
  • Professional support, services, and resources to support international students, faculty, and staff as well as students studying abroad.
  • Compliance with immigration and other related regulations. 
  • Opportunities to develop English language skills.
  • Upcoming events sponsored by the I-Center and ELS including cross-cultural activities.

This event is MANDATORY for international students.

Utilizing the Library for Student Success: 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Learn about all the ways the library can help you achieve success as a student at IIT. From WiFi hotspots and loanable laptops to research assistance and scanning reserve textbook chapters, the library is here to make sure you have everything you need to excel in your studies! This session will provide a brief overview of the library’s resources and services.

The Illinois Tech CyberHawks are a cyber security student organization focused on fostering student growth in the field. We accomplish this through regular events including instructional cyber security seminars, attending cyber security conferences, and participating in regional and national cyber security competitions.

Helping Hands Session: 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm

The Helping Hands Project is a non-profit that works to support children with upper limb differences in a number of ways. The national non-profit works to create a network that supports families through various events and helps to inform families about the opportunities for children with these differences. Student chapters are responsible for the design and assembly of low-cost, recreational prosthetic devices that will be delivered to the child at no cost to the family.

This will be the first Coffeehouse of the semester. It will introduce the incoming class to one of the few classic events Union Board hosts throughout the semester. Students will rewind from 7-8 pm with a musician after a long day.

Harvesting the Sun and Wind for Robotics with ASME: 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Renewable sources now generate a quarter of global electricity, possibly rising to 45
percent by 2040. Much of the increase will likely come from solar, wind, and hydropower. In this session, students will work in groups to create a design concept for robot(s) capable of collecting solar and wind energy to solve real-world challenges.

This challenge will address issues relating to the ASME's 2021 E-Fest Student Design Competition (SDC).
